Mutu says he can't afford fine

The Fiorentina football striker Adrian Mutu has offered to make a significant donation to charity if Chelsea let him off his 35 million dollar fine for breach of contract after he tested positive for cocaine.

Mutu was fired by Chelsea after the positive test in 2004, not long after joining the Premier League club.

Earlier this year the Court of Arbitration for Sport upheld the fine handed to Mutu by FIFA as a punishment for breaching his contract, but in a letter to FIFA president Sepp Blatter and Chelsea, Mutu claims he can't afford it.
