The third seed Rafael Nadal has beaten the Frenchman Gael Monfils to reach the quarter-finals at the US Tennis Open in New York.
Monfils took the first set 7-6 only to see Nadal take charge and win the next three 6-3 6-1 6-3 .
He'll play Chile's 11th seed Fernando Gonzalez, who ousted the French seventh seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
But the British second seed Andy Murray seldom lived up to his ranking and suffered a shock straight sets loss to the Croatian 16th seed Marin Cilic, who'll play the sixth seed Juan Martin Del Potro of Argentina.
