Three New Zealanders have had first qualiftying round wins at the British Open Squash Championships in Manchester.

Kashif Shuja beat Adam Murrills 11-5, 11-4, 11-8 in 27 minutes but Campbell Grayson needed just over an hour to defeat Tom Pashley 3-11, 10-12, 11-4, 11-6, 11-7.

And in a remarkably suimilar match Martin Knight regrouped to claim an unlikely 6-11, 5-11, 11-8, 11-3, 11-5 win over another Englishman Eddie Charlton in exactly an hour.

Knight has just moved to Cardiff, where he is now coached by the Welsh national coach Chris Robertson, and says the lower ranked Charlton was all over him in the first two games
