There are two New Zealand triathletes in contention for the world championship title on the Gold Coast this weekend.
In a new format this year, athletes have been picking up points over a 7-race series and carry those points into this weekend's finale.
Kris Gemmell and Andrea Hewitt are both third in their respective classes and can both win if other results go their way.
Hewitt says she's ready to at least retain her current position as she wants a podium finish.
