Springbok centre suspended for dangerous tackle

The Springbok centre Jaque Fourie has been suspended for four weeks for a dangerous tackle on Ma'a Nonu during the All Blacks loss to South Africa at Waikato Stadium.

Fourie appeared before SANZAR Judiciary in Hamilton today after being cited by Citing Commissioner Scott Nowland for the dangerous tackle.

Fourie claimed that the lifting tackle was not intentional, but reckless, and was at the lower end of the sanction scale.

However after viewing video evidence and hearing submissions the judiciary found the tackle was clearly dangerous and placed the All Black centre in a vulnerable position.

Fourie has been suspended for four weeks to October the 19th.
