Argentina's new US Open tennis champion Juan Martin del Potro has moved up a place on the world rankings to number five and is now the fifth singles player to qualify for November's ATP World Tour finals.
Del Potro climbs above former US Open winner Andy Roddick after his victory in five sets over current number one Roger Federer for his maiden Grand Slam title on Monday.
The two-metre tall 20-year-old Argentine joins Federer, Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray and defending champion Novak Djokovic at the end-of-season event.
Nadal returns to number two in the world rankings after his semi-final exit in New York, moving back ahead of Murray.
Djokovic remains in fourth place with Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Nikolay Davydenko and Fernando Verdasco rounding out the top 10.
