The Canadian Grand Prix is poised to return to the Formula One calendar next year after the resolution of a row over fees between the Canadian promoters and F1 rights holder Bernie Ecclestone.

The President of Grand Prix F1 du Canada, Normand Legault, says he's delighted for Canadian motor racing fans, but added he will no longer serve as the local promoter .

Last autumn Ecclestone said race organisers owed him money from the past three years, while they said the dispute concerned only their financial obligations from last June's event.

In June, Quebe's Finance Minister Raymond Bachand and the City of Montreal stated that the federal and provincial governments were ready to meet the shortfall required to see the street circuit back on the F1 scene.
