Losing his US Open tennis title and 41-match winning streak is a huge blow, but Roger Federer says he won't be brooding over it.

The world number one was finally beaten at Flushing Meadows for the first time in six years, going down in a five-set, four-hour marathon to Argentina's Juan Martin del Potro.

Federer says the loss will be easy to get over as he's had a strong year, finally winning the only grand slam title missing form his collection the French Open and also taking the all-time lead in Grand Slam titles to 16 with his win at Wimbledon.

He and his wife Mirka also celebrated the start of a family with the birth of twin girls.
