Flintoff rejects England contract

Andrew Flintoff has effectively gone freelance after the all rounder rejected the offer of an England cricket contract.

The 31-year-old, who retired from Test cricket after England's Ashes triumph last month and who is currently sidelined with a knee injury, says his decision will help him in his goal to become the best one-day international player in the world by giving him greater global experience.

Flintoff stresses he remains committed to both Lancashire and England but by turning down the incremental contract he's free to play the full length of the lucrative Indian Premier League rather than have to pull out halfway to tour Bangladesh with England next year.
