6:38 pm on 17 September 2009

New Zealand has struggled with challenging conditions and is well off the pace midway through the Asia Pacific Teams golf championship in South Korea.

After two rounds New Zealand is 13th, 39 over par and ahead of just eight other teams.

The best of the New Zealanders is the debutante Andrew Stewart, from Tauranga, who's five over in a share of 10th after rounds of 75 and 74.

Only South Korea and Chinese Taipei, have been able to cope with the demanding Nam

Seoul Country Club's hilly terrain and lightning quick greens.

The hosts are seven under par after 36 holes, six clear of Chinese Taipei, with China and Japan 16 over in a share of third.
