New Zealand's richest Pro-Am golf tournament planned for Hamilton

New Zealand's richest Pro-Am golf tournament is being established in Hamilton.

The Brian Perry Classic will have a professional prize purse of $100,000 and New Zealand's highest ranked professional golfer, David Smail, has confirmed his attendance.

The Brian Perry Charitable Trust's first annual event will take place next March at the Hamilton and Ngaruawahia clubs with an amateur prize table of $30,000 to $40,000.

The first two days will be played on the two courses, with three amateurs paired with a professional and entries restricted to 64 teams.

The last day will be played at Hamilton club and will see the top 20 amateur teams nominating their best player to pair up with the professionals and compete in a Stableford tournament.
