The unheralded Spanish golfer Rafael Cabrera-Bello carded an astonishing 11-under 60 in the final round of the Austrian Open to land his first European Tour title in Vienna .

The 25-year-old had a lengthy putt on the 18th to become the first player to record a 59 on the European Tour but narrowly missed.

Starting the day eight shots behind Saturday's leader Benn Barham, the world number 220 shot 30 on the outward and inward nines to seal the win.

He says he played the best golf of his life and can't believe it as he was so far back he wasn't thinking about winning.
