Pakistan beat Windies at Champions Trophy

7:11 am on 24 September 2009

2 of Pakistan's young stars led the way as they opened their Champions Trophy cricket tournament with a 5 wicket victory over the West Indies at the Wanderers in Johannesburg.

17-year old fast bowler Mohammad Aamer took 3 wickets as the Windies were bowled out for just 133.

While the Pakistani's stuttered in their chase, 19 year old Umar Akmal saw them through with an unbeaten 41 with 19 overs to spare.

Captain Shahid Afridi had a lot of praise for Akmal, who is the younger brother of wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal and who was playing just his 5th ODI....

New Zealand play South Africa tonight.
