Returning All Black squad members Colin Slade and Wyatt Crockett are back in the Canterbury line-up to play Northland in Saturday's Ranfurly Shield clash in Christchurch.
Slade comes in at fullback and Crockett at loosehead prop, with Sean Maitland moving to the right wing and Andrew Olorenshaw to the reserves bench.
Openside flanker George Whitelock, who missed last weekend's victory over Taranaki with a high ankle sprain, is again unavailable for this match.
Matt Todd will again take his place in the number seven jersey, with second-five Tim Bateman captaining the side for the second week.
