Renault says its technical director Bob Bell will lead the Formula One team for the rest of the season after Flavio Briatore's departure.
Briatore and chief engineer Pat Symonds were behind one of the sport's biggest scandals when they conspired with former driver Nelson Piquet Jnr to cause a deliberate crash in last year's Singapore Grand Prix.
The International Automobile Federation handed Briatore an "unlimited" ban while Symonds was suspended for five years.
Having acted as whistleblower Piquet was given immunity although his reputation is in tatters.
Renault was punished with a two-year suspended ban.
