Keeper in Swedish soccer league caught out moving goalposts

2:53 pm on 26 September 2009

A goalkeeper in Sweden faces a fine or possible suspension for moving the goalposts before a league match.

Kim Christensen of IFK Goteborg was caught by tv cameras pushing the posts on the artificial pitch towards each other.

It was 20 minutes into the match with Orebro when the referee noticed one goal was slightly smaller than the other.

Not knowing who was responsible, he pushed the portable goal back into shape and the match continued.

It was only afterwards that Christensen was revealed as the culprit, having kicked the posts inwards before the game and narrowing the goal by several centimetres.

He has since admitted it was not this first time he had done that.
