Alonso dedicates podium finish to disgraced former Renault team boss

Fernando Alonso's dedicated his podium finish in the Singapore Grand Prix to disgraced former Renault team boss Flavio Briatore.

Briatore has been banned from the sport indefinitely for his involvement in the race-fixing scandal at Singapore last year when Nelson Piquet junior was ordered to crash.

It allowed Alonso, who was cleared of any wrongdoing, to controversially win.

It was Renault's first podium of a tough 2009 season with Alonso finishing in third place behind Lewis Hamilton and Timo Glock.

But Alonso says the result won't make any difference to his decision on who to drive for next year, with the double world champion tipped to replace Kimi Raikkonen at Ferrari.
