North Shore swimmer Andrew McMillan has come from behind to upset his New Zealand team-mates in winning the 400 metre freestyle at the New Zealand short course champs in Christchurch.

The 24-year-old followed his win in the 200 metre freestyle to edge out Michael Jack and top qualifier Moss Burmester.

Melissa Ingram took out the women's 200 metre backstroke, Daniel Bell was untroubled in the 200 metre individual medley, while Hayley Palmer continued her great form, adding the 50 metre freestyle title to the three titles she won on Monday.
