Platini blasts FIFA over player control

European football's president Michel Platini has blasted the game's leaders for their lack of action over secretive companies owning players.

Platini, who has promised to announce later this year whether or not he'll run for the FIFA presidency in 2015, stepped up his war of words with the incumbent Sepp Blatter by calling on the controlling body to impose a ban on the so-called "third party ownership" of players.

Platini says some players are no longer in control of their own careers and are transferred each year to generate revenue for anonymous individuals.
