Newspaper retracts match-fixing story

The International Cricket Council says an Indian newspaper is to retract a report that the ICC's Anti-Corruption and Security Unit is investigating possible match-fixing arising from Pakistan's loss to New Zealand in the Champion's Trophy semi-final.

The ICC says the allegation that Pakistan's captain Younis Khan may have deliberately dropped batsman Grant Elliot - when he was on 42 and went on to make a match-winnning 75 not out - is untrue and entirely unfounded.

Khan says he dropped the catch as he was worried about hurting a fractured finger.
