The New Zealand pace bowler Kyle Mills has jumped to number one on the world one day cricket bowler rankings after strong performances at the Champions Trophy in South Africa.
Mills started the eight-team tournament trailing Nuwan Kulasekara by seven points and now leads his Sri Lanka counterpart by 10 points. They're the only two bowlers in the 700-point mark.
Mills returned the impressive figures of three for 27 in the final and finished as the tournament's third leading wicket-taker in the tournament with nine wickets to play a leading role in New Zealand's progress to the final, where they lost to Australia by six wickets.
New Zealand bowlers now hold three of the top five spots with Daniel Vettori third and Shane Bond fifth.
New Zealand's captain Vettori slipped to third after hamstring injury forced him to miss the final, but the Black Caps have jumped three places to fourth in the latest update, behind Australia, India and South Africa and ahead of Pakistan, England and Sri Lanka.
