Murphy had hoped Scaife had all the answers

Between them they hold nine Bathurst titles but what New Zealand's Greg Murphy would really like Mark Skaife to help do is work out why his Holden's not performing at its best.

Murphy finished second at Bathurst last year but has been off the pace during much of this year's V8 Supercar championship and is 22nd in the drivers' championship.

Skaife retired as a full-time driver at the end of last year but he'll share the wheel in Sunday's 1000-kilometre race with Murphy, who's hoping his co-driver can come up with a few answers for them.

Murphy says Skaife's still trying to pinpoint what part of their Holden's not performing at the top level.
