McGowan claims first European title

The English golfer Ross McGowan has won his first title on the European tour, with a three-shot victory at the Madrid Masters.

27 year old McGowan had gone into the final round with a 7 shot lead after a third round of 60, and he finished 25 under par for the tournament.

New Zealander Mark Brown had a 2-under par 70 to fiish in 66th place.

Meanwhile Michael Campbell finished a miserable weekend at the Indian Open with a closing round of 84 to finish in 70th and last place.
