Saints on fire in NBL

The Wellington Saints have won their fourth straight game in the national basketball league, beating reigning champions, the Southland Sharks, 94-76 in Wellington.

Saints guard Corey Webster continued his hot form with a game-high 31 points as the hosts took control at the major break, leading Southland 53-32 at half-time as they won the second quarter 25-8.

Kevin Braswell was the leading scorer for the visitors with 16 while Reuben Te Rangi added 15.

The Sharks went on to win their next game against the Manawatu Jets in Palmerston North, Braswell scoring a season-high 39 points in the 96-81 win.

The Saints face the unbeaten Otago Nuggets on Monday. The Nuggets play the Canterbury Rams on Saturday.
