The legendary Spanish golfer Seve Ballesteros, who was diagnosed with a brain tumour after collapsing 12 months ago, says he's keen to play in next year's British Open at St. Andrews.

52 year old Ballesteros, who had four brain operations to remove the tumour, and 22 days in intensive care, has told the BBC golf commentator Peter Alliss in an exclusive interview the last thing he wants is sympathy because he's had such a lucky life compared with most people.

The charismatic Ballesteros won three British Opens and two US Masters titles betweeen 1979 and 1988.
