West Indies contract problems set to be resolved

The West Indies Cricket Board and players say they are close to resolving their long-standing dispute.

A severely depleted team, missing stars such as captain Chris Gayle and Shivnarine Chanderpaul, was soundly beaten by Bangladesh in recent Test and one-day matches in the Caribbean.

Their top players were also absent from the recent Champions Trophy tournament in South Africa.

As part of their deal, they will start negotiations for a new collective bargaining agreement, paving the way for a full strength side to tour Australia next month.
