The Highlanders chairman Stuart McLauchlan is resigning after five years in the position.
McLauchlan was recently appointed deputy chairman of Pharmac, the Crown entity that oversees the pharmaceutical schedule, and is also crown monitor of the Southland District Health Board.
He says those appointments and other directorships mean he has less time for a challenging position that requires more than he's able to give to rugby.
