The Caulfield Cup winner Viewed has escaped with only a one kilo rehandicap for the Melbourne Cup on the 3rd of November.
Viewed and Efficent, the last two Melbourne Cup winners, will share topweight of 58 kilograms for the Flemington feature, after the Bart Cummings-trained Viewed was given the lightest penalty for a Caulfield Cup winner in 30 years.
Racing Victoria's chief handicapper Greg Carpenter says there's no evidence to suggest Viewed should carry more weight than Efficient.
The only Melbourne Cup winner to carry 58 kilograms or more in the past 30 years was Makybe Diva when she won her third in 2005.
