The New Zealand Breakers star guard Kirk Penney returned to training yesterday as he looks to overcome a back injury.
Improving every day, Penney shot hoops and was moving a little more freely, but he remains an unlikely starter tomorrow night in the Australian National Basketball League clash with the Townsville Crocodiles on the North Shore.
Penney is recovering from a back injury suffered a fortnight ago, the Tall Black shooting guard suffering two annular disc tears to his lower back.
That recovery is expected to take 4 weeks in total but Penney admits to being ahead of schedule.
The Breakers have 2 wins and 2 losses so far this season, the same record as the Crocs.
