SANZAR reps don't even get to vote on expansion

SANZAR's executive committee didn't even get to vote on the Super rugby expansion issue when they met in Brisbane on Wednesday, but they've said they'll be moving quickly to set up a process which will result in a binding decision.

A Melbourne-based franchise and South Africa's Southern Kings are bidding to join the expanded Super 15 in 2011, but it became obvious when Australia and South Africa said they would be supporting their own bids, the meeting was never going to reach the required unanimous verdict.

An independent arbitration process will now be set up to determine the successful franchise which will play in the Australian conference, but doesn't have to be based there.
