New Zealand Cricket has confirmed Andy Moles' position as Black Caps coach.

The confirmation comes in response to reports speculating on Moles' future as coach of the side.

New Zealand Cricket Chief Executive Justin Vaughan has reaffirmed Moles as the Head Coach, and says he's preparing the side for next month's limited overs series against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates.

The Dominion Post newspaper reported that senior Black Caps wanted Moles sacked as he wasn't up to the job technically and that captain Daniel Vettori had effectively been coaching the side the last six months.

Vaughn says following the BlackCaps return from Sri Lanka and the Champions Trophy they're undertaking a review of the team's performance.

He says the review looks at all aspects of individual and collective performance with a view to continuous improvement.
