Daniel Vettori was named New Zealand Cricketer of the Year on Thursday night, walking off with three awards in all at the sport's annual presentation dinner in Auckland.

Described by New Zealand Cricket's chief executive Justin Vaughan as an inspiration, Vettori was a runaway winner of the major award, and he was also named leading bowler and all-rounder after a year in which he became only the eighth player from any country to score more than 3,000 runs and take 300 wickets in Tests.

The New Zealand women's batting and bowling honours went to captan Haidee Tiffin, who retired from international cricket earlier this year, and Kate Pulford, and Sophie Devine was named domestic player of the year.
