The Rotorua golfer Danny Lee has missed out on qualifying for next year's US PGA Tour.

Lee could only post the 36th equal score in his final round of the first PGA Tour qualifying tournament in Texas, his disastrous four over par 76 keeping him well out of the top 22 players who now advance to the second stage of the PGA Tour's gruelling qualifying process.

Lee, the 2008 US Amateur champion, can still play on the European Tour as he earned enough exemptions in his debut season as a professional.
