Reds confirm Genia re-signing

The Queensland Reds Super 14 rugby franchise has confirmed that Wallaby halfback Will Genia has re-signed for another two years with Australia and Queensland.

The 21-year-old's been one bright spot in a dismal year for the Wallabies, making his Australian debut and looking like George Gregan's legitimate successor in the number 9 jersey.

Like Gregan, Genia is an immigrant, the Papua New Guinea-born about to leave for Japan and Europe and set to start against the All Blacks in Tokyo.

Genia was picked straight out of colts to join the Reds for an end of season match against Japan in 2006 and made his Super 14 debut in 2007, still never having played an open grade game in club rugby.
