NSW claim Champions League T20 title and big payday

The New South Wales cricket side has won the inaugural Champions League Twenty20 tournament in India with a 41 run win over Trinidad and Tobago in the final in Hyderabad.

The win means NSW claim the first prize of a staggering $3.3 million.

Paceman Brett Lee starred for the Blues, top scoring with 48 off 31 balls in their total of of nine for 159 and taking two for 10 as Trinidad and Tobago were dismissed for 118 in the last ball of the 16th over.

Lee, who smashed five sixes in his innings, also took the catch to dismiss dangerman Kieron Pollard, who top-scored for his team with 26.

Lee and all-rounder Steven Smith rescued the Blues with a seventh wicket partnership of 49 after they slumped to six for 83.

Smith scored 33 of 26 balls and took two wickets, while paceman Stuart Clark took three for 21.
