7:29 am on 27 October 2009

Younus Khan will lead the Pakistan cricket team in their one day series against New Zealand after withdrawing his resignation over match fixing allegations against him.

Younus tendered his resignation after questions were raised about Pakistan's losses to Australia and New Zealand at the Champions trophy one day tournament in South Africa earlier this month.

Vice captain Shahid Afridi will lead Pakistan in their two Twenty20 games against New Zealand, but Younus Khan will captain the side in the five one dayers in Abu Dhabi and Dubai in the next two weeks, and subject to form and fitness he'll lead Pakistan until the 2011 World Cup to be jointly hosted by Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka.
