New Zealand Football has established that the All Whites captain Ryan Nelsen hasn't been affected by the outbreak of swine flu at his English premier league club Blackburn Rovers.

Three of Nelsen's teammates were confirmed with the virus earlier this week, along with two staff members, and Bolton Wanderers have revealed four of their players have the virus.

English footballers have been warned by health authorities that spitting on the pitch could increase the risk of spreading swine flu.

But Premier League officials have said they don't expect any games to be postponed because of the virus.
