The unwanted All Black halfback Piri Weepu has been named to start at first five eighth for Wellington in Saturday night's Air New Zealand Cup semi-final against Soutland at the Westpac Stadium.
Weepu, who failed to gain selection for the All Blacks end of year tour as he continues to recover from an ankle injury, will start outside halfback Alby Mathewson.
Another unwanted All Black Hosea Gear will start on the left wing while front rower turned lock Jacob Ellison wilk again captain the side from the second row.
