Women's rugby team missing skipper for England tour

The Black Ferns captain Melissa Ruscoe has been ruled out of the team's rugby tour to England next month after suffering a concussion.

Ruscoe sustained a head-knock during the women's national provincial semi-final against Hawke's Bay earlier this month.

The Cantabury blindside flanker's condition hasn't improved enough for medical staff to clear Ruscoe to travel to London next week.

Ruscoe's injury means a first time call-up for Auckland's Aroha Savage.

She will join the Black Ferns squad when they assemble at the Millennium Institute in Auckland on Friday before the team heads to England for the three-match tour on the Monday, November 9th.
