Arsenal, Chelsea turn on the style as Liverpool lose again

9:05 am on 1 November 2009

A quick-fire double set Arsenal on their way to a comfortable 3-0 Premier League victory over north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

A close first half was transformed minutes before the break when Robin van Persie met Bacary Sagna's low cross for Arsenal's first goal before Spaniard Cesc Fabregas scored a brilliant second moments later.

Sagna and Van Persie combined once more after the break for Arsenal's third and the Dutchman's seventh this season, while substitute Eduardo da Silva spurned an easy chance for a fourth.

In the other matches this morning, a late Wayne Rooney strike sealed a 2-nil home win for Manchester United over Blackburn, Chelsea thumped Bolton 4-nil at the Reebok Stadium, and Liverpool's fledgling title hopes took another hit, after crashing to a shock 3-1 loss at Fulham.

Burnley beat Hull, Portsmouth bagged four against Wigan, while Aston Villa drew with Everton, as did Stoke City and Wolves, and Sunderland and West Ham United.
