Four NZ gallopers in tomorrow's Melbourne Cup

The topweight for tomorrow's Melbourne Cup, the Bart Cummings-trained Viewed attracted a flood of money after the field was finalised over the weekend at Flemington.

Last year's winner is the current favourite in an even betting race, ahead of the South Australian stayer Alcopop, with another Cummings hopeful Roman Emperor the only other runner in single figures.

Daffodil is best supported of the four New Zealand runners, though she's drawn barrier 21 in the 24 horse field, and Cape Cover has also drawn wide at 19.

The other two Kiwi qualifiers Spin Around and Gallions Reach are among the rank outsiders.

NZ hasn't produced a Melbourne Cup winner since Ethereal in 2001.
