The New Zealand men's hockey team have beaten Wales 6-2 in their first game at the World Cup qualifying tournament in Invercargill.
Wales provided a scare for the much higher ranked Blacksticks when they drew within one goal of the New Zealanders mid-way through the second half.
However the Blacksticks responded by increasing the tempo of the game and scored three late goals to seal the victory.
