McAlister keen to get a start this week against Italy

A number of changes are expected in the All Black side to take on Italy in Milan this week.

Those in line to be rested from the side which beat Wales could include skipper Richie McCaw, hooker Andrew Hore, lock Brad Thorn, the midfield and fullback Mils Muliaina.

First five Dan Carter faces the prospect of being suspended for the match after being cited for a high tackle on Wales halfback Martin Roberts in their 19-12 win in Cardiff yesterday.

Utility back Luke McAlister's play this year has been affected by injury and he admits he'd love to start this week after being a part of the All Blacks scratchy win over the Italians in Christchurch in June.
