Spanish pair confirmed for Heineken Open

The Spanish duo of former Heineken Open finalists, the World No15, Tommy Robredo and former world No1 and current No22 Juan Carlos Ferrero have confirmed they will play the 2010 tournament in January.

Robredo was a beaten finalist in Auckland in 2007 when he lost to countryman David Ferrer while

Ferrero will be sixth appearance in Auckland.

He first played there nine years ago as a teenager where he beat another youngster named Roger Federer on an outside court and continued on to the quarterfinals

Ferrero lost an epic final in 2008 to Philipp Kohlschreiber and returned in January for a replay of the final.

That match was in the he second round and he lost to the German in a third set tiebreak, later vowing to return and win the title.
