The Australian road cycling star Stuart O'Grady hopes to be out of hospital in the next 24 hours after collapsing at the Valencia MotoGP in Spain at the weekend.

The Olympic champion was taken to hospital after passing out following a lap of the course on the back of a modified racing bike.

36 year old O'Grady was diagnosed with the heart condition super ventricular tachycardia in the mid-1990s, he suffered neurological problems after a 1999 mugging in France, and seven years ago he had surgery on a blocked artery.
