The Basketball Hall of Famer Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has revealed he's battling a rare form of blood cancer but his long-term prognosis is very good.
62-year-old Abdul-Jabbar, the NBA's all-time leading scorer, says he was diagnosed with cancer of the blood and bone marrow late last year, but he's responded well to treatment.
Abdul-Jabbar played for the Milwaukee Bucks and Los Angeles Lakers, and was a six times NBA champion and most valuable player.
