The New Zealand Rugby League has named the directors of the two remaining zone boards to complete the first significant phase of the game's regional reform.

Confirmation of the directors for the Northern and Mid Central Zones completes the seven new zones created to administer the game at regional level.

NZRL chairman Scott Carter announced Bruce Peden as the chairperson of the northern zone with the other directors named as Jaine Lovell-Gadd, Sharon Bird, Thomas Jackson and Peter van Kampen.

The northern zone comprises the North Harbour/Rodney area within in the existing Auckland district and Northland covering Whangarei to the Far North.

Scott Carter also announced Kura Denness as the chairperson of the mid central zone (Taranaki, Manawatu and Hawkes Bay) with directors Jon Nichols, Stuart Balfour, Peter Butler and Joshua Cleaver completing the five-person board.

Formation of the seven new zones was a key recommendation made by the Independent Review Committee following a game-wide review.

All seven zone boards will convene with the NZRL board of directors at an induction meeting to be held in Auckland on Saturday 21 November.
