Black Sticks beat China

The New Zealand men's hockey team remain well on track to achieving their objective of winning the World Cup qualifying tournament in Invercargill after thrashing China 6-1.

The Black Sticks qualify for the final with the win with the top two sides after round robin play meeting in the final.

The winner qualifies for February's World Cup in Delhi.

China were the only other unbeaten side but succumbed 3-0 by half-time, the Black Sticks running out to 6-1 by the end.

China play Malaysia on Saturday with Malaysia needing a win to qualify to play New Zealand.
