The New Zealand cricket captain Daniel Vettori has been given the all clear after undergoing a scan on a head injury suffered during the second one-day international against Pakistan in Abu Dhabi.

Vettori had been unwell for several days after a ball struck the grill of his helmet, and he was taken for the scan yesterday after vomiting.

Team manager Dave Currie says Vettori's concussion will be closely monitored, and his availability for tomorrow's second Twenty20 match against Pakistan is uncertain.

Vettori also has a shoulder injury.
