Pakistan win opening Twenty20 match

The Pakistani cricketers have won the opening Twenty20 international in Dubai beating New Zealand by 49 runs.

An injury ravaged Black Caps side gave up 161 runs in the field with opener Imran Nazir top scoring with 58... Tim Southee took 3 wickets.

In reply New Zealand were dismissed for 112 with 1 and a half overs remaining... batsman Aaron Redmond didn't bat after suffering a groin injury while bowling.

The Black Caps were already with Dan Vettori, Kyle Mills and James Franklin because of injuries, while Jacob Oram has returned home.

The second and final match is tomorrow morning.
